Call for Abstracts
All participants of the Congress are invited to submit abstracts of scientific study. Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation. All presenters at the 21st SPC must be confirmed registrants. Confirmed registration is also a prerequisite for publication of abstracts in the Abstract Book.
Abstract Submission
Abstract format
- Each abstract should be prepared as a Microsoft Word file (font: Arial; font size: 10).
- Abstracts should be in English, contain no more than 350 words, and be structured around the subheadings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
- The abstract title, name(s) and affiliation(s) of all authors will not be counted towards the word limit.
- Do NOT include tables, figures or references in the abstract.
- Abbreviations are allowed only after the term has been mentioned in full followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- Generic (not trade/brand) names for drugs should be used and written in full (not denoted by initials or abbreviations).
- Regimen dosing should be written in full. For example, “TID” should be written as “three times daily”.
- Abstracts submitted in any other format other than stated above will not be considered.
Listing of authors
- The names of all authors should follow the format indicated in the Abstract Submission Form. (Last name initials. e.g. Wang RE or Dela Cruz JM).
- The name of the corresponding author and his correspondence details should also be clearly indicated in the Abstract Submission Form.
- The name and address of the presenting author and the corresponding author should be underlined, together with their email and telephone contact details.

Notification of abstract receipt and acceptance and selection process
- All presenters at the 21st SPC must be confirmed registrants. Confirmed registration is also a prerequisite for publication of abstracts in the Abstract Book.
- All abstracts will be acknowledged within 72 hours upon receipt.
- The Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.
- The Congress Secretariat will give notification of abstract acceptance before 10 June 2011.
- All corresponding authors will be informed of the outcome for their abstract submission.
- Please take note that authors of abstracts accepted for presentation must be responsible for all expenses incurred in the production of their presentation, travel and accommodation during the Congress
